The Church of St. Sylvester (13th century)
It is considered a beautiful example of French-derived Romanesque architecture and has an attractive interior with a rising presbytery and a crypt.
The unusual, unfinished Romanesque facade is engraved with an inscription to the right of the gate and refers to the year 1195, the buyer Emperor Henry VI, the architect Binellus and the Prior Diotisalvi:
“+ A(nno) D(omini) MCXCV/ERRICO IMP(erato)RE REGNA(n)TE / D(eu)S TE SALVET P(ri)OR ET FR(atre)S / EIUS ET BINELL(us) M(agister) VIVANT I(n) (Christo) AM(en)”
