The Church of St. Dominic and St. James (13th century)

The church rises on the ancient Oratory of St. George and on ancient structures from the Roman era, which are well known nowadays as harbor structures.

The building was initially dedicated to St. George, from whom the Gaita was also called. At the end of the 14th century, it changed its name to the current one. The 17th-century cloister is situated nearby the convent decorated with frescoes by Giovan Battista Pacetti. The church, the convent, and the cloister are closely related to Blessed Giacomo Bianconi. He is the co-patron saint of Bevagna, for whom the city’s people show him a great devotion.
